U11B Hockey lost to Dollar

U11B Hockey lost to Dollar

A tough afternoon in the wind and rain!

It was a very rainy start to our half term where we had the first home game of the season against Dollar. Our team which included Emily, Rosanna, Praise, Alice, Florence, Helena, Alexandra, Jemima and Isla braved the nasty weather to show off their skills to an evenly matched opposition. Our concentration wasn’t fully on the hockey during the first five minutes when Dollar took a powerful shot into the D, however we got right back into it and kept the heavy pressure on. Our second half was a stormer, with Rosanna using brilliant communication skills to point out the free spaces and options for passing. Florence scored her first goal after Emily and Alice passed to each other from their D all the way up the field into the opposite D. We can take some feedback onboard as the Dollar girls drove into the D and scored, kicking us into gear to attack the ball more, especially when the other team have the ball. Emily scored a cracker of a goal and proved that determination always wins as she lost the ball twice, gained the possession back to finally win that goal. All in all a game showing that you should never give up!
