U13B Hockey beat Loretto

A super game of hockey, girls!

U13B Hockey v Loretto

Won 5-0

Our start was delayed slightly which gave the girls the chance to do a full warm-up, including some match practice and so the team were immediately into their stride this afternoon. Amalia was confident in her role as a captain, setting an athletic example up front. Her strike for the second goal was one of the highlights this afternoon.

Beth was also dynamic, covering lots of the pitch (if perhaps a little less disciplined in terms of position) and we brought lots of pressure to bear on the opposition. Beth scored two goals and proved herself a handful in the opposition D. Rowan also scored a good goal, reacting to a rebound.

In defence, Nadia tackled and distributed well and, although she did not have a lot to do, Isla in goal was authoritative and organised her defence well. She looked extremely secure and you could see why she is normally the first team goalkeeper.

The match did become a little scrappy and we would like to have been more accurate in our passing going forward. Nonetheless, we dominated the space and supported each other well as a team – making us deserving winners. As ever, this lovely group of girls were very good company this afternoon and the match was played in a very positive spirit
