U11B Hockey v Craigclowan

We spread our goals throughout all four quarters of this game. Unfortunately having nobody moving onto the back post of either side meant that a few off-target shots which could have been touched in were falling off the back line. Finally a great shot on target rocketed past the keeper gave Cargilfield their first goal. After a big scramble lasting almost a whole minute, a hard hit gave us another boost.

A lack of communication from the team meant a Craigclowan boy was able to sneak into the D and get a touch on the ball before going in our goal. Starting off the second quarter, the boys came in with a teamwork attitude, passing the ball between each other and around the other team to show off a lovely team goal. A smasher of a shot smashed against the side post, but thankfully we were there to touch it in the goal and get our next mark on the scoresheet.

After a disallowed own goal from the red and blue side, we came fighting back to give the keeper some practice and kept shooting and rebounding until we finally got that well deserved goal from the play, proving to never give up and always try again. Edward wanting his name on the scoresheet decided to take the ball on a trip and made a 1v1 against the keeper to which he won from. Our final goal came during the last minute of play with another team goal (and almost an eighth goal had there been another minute of play!)

All in all a brilliant game of hockey showing the determination of the team. Great work boys!
