U13A Netball lost to Craigclowan

A tough afternoon!

U13 Netball v Craigclowan

The team headed up the A9 to Craigclowan. The game was indoors and they played 4 x 10min quarters.

The team; Maddie, Scarlett, Tunrayo, Izzy, Esme, Mirada, Savanna, and Lexie.

The first quarter started with Cargilfield winning the center pass. Passing was slow, the girls were very quiet and Craigclowan were hungry for the ball, intercepting and passing the ball up the court towards two very competent shooters. After a week of dodging practice at training the girls attempted to put roll and change of direction dodges into the game when appropriate. The team need to continue to work on their defending skills making themselves big and getting their arms up to defend throughout the court to make the oppositions job harder. Cargilfields speed on the court was fast and this really increased the number of opportunities the shooters had to gain vital points. As each quarter came around Craigclowan kept their lead with fluid passes, good intercepting and having a high percentage of the possession. They were the stronger team on the day.

To develop the girls, need to work on reading their opposition and anticipating their moves.

Final score 29-40 loss.

MVP of the match voted by Craigclowan was awarded to Tunrayo, Well done!
