U11A netball v Loretto

Despite being on tremendous form last week there are days when things don’t really come together. Today was one of those. This match has provided plenty of opportunity for us to reflect on things that went well and also what we need to do better before we compete in our tournament next week.

This was a very physical match. There was a lot of contact and even more obstruction and play was far from smooth on either side. We let our frustrations get the better of us and need to learn to play in response to the environment we are in.

After a scrappy first quarter we started to play more effectively, trying to avoid crowding around the ball and using the wings. At half time Loretto were only one goal ahead.

We matched Loretto pretty well in the third quarter but by the last quarter I think we were a bit tired from the physicality of the game. Our shooting was not great today and Loretto’s shooting was excellent. The final quarter saw them score 3 goals to our 1.
