U9 Tigers Netball lost to Loretto

A good effort, girls!

U9 Tigers Netball v Loretto

Loss 10 – 2

The temperature dropped and the drizzle started; it was going to be a tough 24 minutes… Charlotte worked hard as centre and with Minty and Serena as shooters, we had some good opportunities. Serena utilised this and managed to score relatively quickly. Unfortunately, Esme and Jed had some challenges, in the form of tall opponents, and were worked hard to make sure it was only two goals scored by Loretto.

Isobel joined us in the second quarter and was a quick-footed centre. Charlotte was able to find spaces and managed to score a goal for us. Sadly, Loretto were picking up their pace and scored three goals.

The third quarter saw Maria as GD and she did a super job of getting stuck in there. Esme did a lot of running to ensure the ball was heading in the right direction, but a tough 6 minutes meant that neither side scored.

By the time the last quarter game, the Tigers were rather damp, rather cold and dare I say it, some had started to give up somewhat. Some of the team were continuing to fight hard to reclaim the game but ultimately, there was too much standing around and watch Loretto pass the ball that it was no wonder Loretto scored 5 goals. We need to work on keeping on going, even when the going gets cold and wet. It was a shame because we put up a good fight at the beginning but crawled to the end. Well done, Loretto for keeping on going. We will come back stronger next time no matter the weather!
