U11B Hockey v George Watson's College

Won 7-2

Our U11B team got off to a flying start against George Watsons U11A today. Jamie scored within the first 2 minutes of the game starting and from then we went on to have a very dominant first third of the game finishing it 3-0. The defence from Geordie, Leo and Torin was exceptional in the first third of the game and Watsons barely managed to get into our D.

The temperature began to drop in the 2^nd third of the match and our boys got off to a slower start. Watson managed to score early making it 3-1. However, with their goal our boys got back into gear and quickly scored 2 more goals making it 5-1. As the 2^nd third was coming to a close Watsons managed to grab another goal ending the 3^rd 5-2.

We decided to change formation in the last third of the match to try and control the game more which was successful, with only 2 players now playing defence and 3 in the middle and 2 up front it meant we managed to play the last 3^rd predominantly in George Watsons half. This meant we created a lot of scoring opportunities but unfortunately could only convert 2 of them in the last third.

Overall it was a great performance from the boys today against Watsons A team. Jamie earnt himself player of the match with 5 goals to his name and Lochy also managed to net 2 goals for himself. Our passing was great and we were very clinical in front of goal scoring a lot of the chances we were given. Next match we need to look to improve our width and working back into defence from midfield.
