U11A Netball vs Belhaven

We had a really positive game today and were feeling good after our second place last week at the Ardvreck tournament. We felt we had everything to play for and, as coach, I felt that the girls were finally starting to play as a team and read their opposition more carefully, exploiting their weaknesses.

We took a commanding lead straight away. Although Belhaven had a lot of possession they went for the overhead passes and our girls especially Zinnia, Athena and Scarlett were on form, jumping up to intercept these high balls. Emily B was excellent at directing play form the centre pass and Scarlett and Lottie both shot very well today. By the end of the first quarter we had a lead of 5 goals. We increased that to a lead of 11 goals by half time.

We continued to dominate the play in the third quarter and what was great to see was that the girls were using the space across the court especially on the wings to move the ball quickly up to our D. Bea and Emily M both provided support on the Wings to Olivia in Centre. In the final quarter we could afford to take a few more chances with our positions and so it was good to give the girls the experience of playing something that they would not normally play. Even out of position we scored two more goals in this quarter resulting in a very convincing win.
