U9 Tigers Netball lost to Belhaven

U9 Tigers Netball lost to Belhaven

Hard luck, girls!

Lost 0-3

The weather was fine for our last competitive fixture of the season at Belhaven. Georgia our captain won the toss and we had the first pass. The ball moved quickly up and down the pitch but unfortunately, we could not seem to get it to Minty and Emilie our shooters. Belhaven intercepted the ball every time and we lost our chance to shoot. Maria and Georgia were the shooters for the next quarter and Georgia very nearly scored but it was not to be. The teams seemed very evenly matched and at half time it was a nil nil draw.

In the third quarter despite Maria and Minty’s best efforts, Belhaven did manage to score. Unfortunately, in the final quarter although we were trying very hard and we did get the ball down to Polly and Izzy S, the shooters, our accuracy was not there. Belhaven managed to score a further two leaving us with a 3-0 loss.

To improve we need to mark more closely by getting in front of Belhaven. Passing the ball back was a risky strategy that is best avoided at this stage. We lost the ball several times because of this. Instead we need to keep moving and get into good spaces to receive the pass.

Well done on a good effort girls! You kept on trying right to the end.
