U12 Hockey v Strathallan

Win

Well what a final game for our U12 team against north-side Strathallan! With a strong 10-man team, we started on the strong foot. The first goal was for Charles on the scoreboard, for James to join soon after with a lovely strike. Dexter ran around the opposition to score his first goal. The Strathallan defender hit the ball off of the base line and thus a running penalty was awarded. Tristan, with a calm head, charged straight at the keeper and shot into the goal. The Strath side then made a tight breakthrough to score a very quick goal. On the other side of the pitch, the Strathallan keeper (who was on absolute fire!) made three great saves in a row, but luckily for us Charles was there on the end of the all to score another.

The second half saw much of the same, with Senuka and Wilfred constantly putting pressure on the Strath players and Max & Mack jumping at any small mistake from the attack. Another Reis goal, this time from Theo with a powerful strike, then again from an aerial ball. Strath came back once more with a 2v1 to score their second goal. Dexter retaliated almost immediately and Harry not long after smacked a reverse hit from a rebound from the keeper. Tristan received another great pass and swung the ball round the keeper into the net. An unfortunate ball to the foot inside the Cargilfield D meant action time for Hugh. He made some massive saves three times in a row during the running penalty and did it with style! The last goal came from a brilliant attacking running penalty from Charles.

A fantastic final game of the season! The team couldn’t be faulted for their hard work, pressure and a goal spectacular game. The whole squad, not just the team today, have really made us all proud this season. Well done, boys!
