L 8-3
On a sunny, fresh afternoon we welcomed Belhaven and started the game well, dominating play and scoring three goals. We then seemed to drift off, however, and allowed Belhaven back into the match. Some physical tackles and stick play from the Belhaven boys gained them the upper hand in the mid-field and our boys couldn’t regain momentum. The Belhaven keeper made 3 or 4 strong saves in the second half and the Belhaven boys took advantage of our press for goals and scored with a couple of long hit clearances collected by a lone striker. A tough match for the Cargilfield boys to swallow but a good lesson in how important it is not to switch off and loose concentration in a game. Once the confidence and flow of a match swings against you, it is very hard to get it back.
