U11A Cricket v Strathallan

Won by 9 runs

On a beautiful May afternoon, our U11A squad looked to build on the momentum of last week's performance, when they played Strathallan this afternoon.

Lochy won the toss and put Strathallan in on a green pitch. Blake opened the bowling with accuracy and pace, which in turn removed both openers. Further good bowling followed David, Lochy and Archer.

Our fielding was once again outstanding and this was led by Oli, who saved lots of runs in the outfield, whilst Michael kept brilliantly. In the death overs at the end Max stood out taking two quick wickets and becoming agonisingly close to a hat trick.

Lochy opened the batting with Timothy and got the team off to a solid start in their pursuit of 250. Lochy and Timothy both stroked the ball powerfully to edge Cargilfield close to their target. Monty and Honour batted superbly in the middle, with Honour playing a beautifully struck on drive off the final ball of his pair. That left some tight overs to get the team over the line, with Harry and Salman showing real maturity to guide Cargilfield to a great win.
