What fantastic weather for some hockey! The team (without any subs!) showed great determination and teamwork to prevail against a strong Fettes side. Right from the first whistle, the Cargilfield girls put pressure on and, after some losing and winning possession back quickly, the first goal was shot to the side and in the goal from Isobel R-D. Wanting some more goals on the board, Jed drove the ball from the defending D all the way up to the opposition goal, gave the ball again to Isobel who cheekily shot the ball round the keeper. Minty then proceeded to pull off fives saves in a row(!) to stop the pink side scoring during the whole of the first half

After getting in the shade for a few minutes and having a well-deserved quick break, the game was back on. With the team’s 3-step focus of Teamwork, Communication, Spacing, they pushed once more, this time having a hit out from Charlotte right to Kirsty, placed brilliantly just outside the D to drive in and tap into the goal. Mo had her first game back post-injury and showed us all what we were missing as she, alongside Katherine, became human pinball machines, stealing the balls from the Fettes side and shooting them quickly up the wings. Despite showing gorgeous hockey from Jed, her final goal on the full time whistle was disallowed.
