U9 Hockey mixed team with Fettes

What a fantastic day for our U9 Girls team! We were lucky to have such beautiful weather as we teamed up with Fettes to form four 5-a-side squads for a mini tournament.

The aim of the day was to improve the girls' match play while enjoying hockey and getting the chance to play with another school. The games were fairly evenly matched, allowing the girls to showcase some of the skills they had learned in their sessions. Everyone played very well, demonstrating great sportsmanship and enthusiasm across their games while working together as a team. Although they were split across matches, it was amazing to see their improvement in positional play. They were much better at spreading out on the pitch and making stronger, more accurate passes.

A big shoutout to Izzy and Elesha, who were voted the most impressive players by everyone involved! Izzy was a force to be reckoned with, making strong passes and tackling with determination. Elesha wowed us all with her impressive dribbling skills and solid defensive plays.

Overall, it was a brilliant day, and we can’t wait for our next match!
