U9 Rugby with Fettes
The Under-9 boys hosted their Fettes counterparts on Wednesday for an afternoon of joint training matches. All of the boys from both teams were mixed up into four teams and they played a round robin tournament where the scores were not recorded. The aim was to develop the match play of the boys, whilst enjoying all the usual parts of a match day. The matches were all closely fought affairs, and our boys got a chance to showcase the skills they had been working on to their Fettes friends and vice versa.
William, Daniel, Tobias, Oskar, Dillon and Archie all used their speed to pressurise their respective opponents, whilst Calvin, Jack and Luca were important players in the defensive efforts of their teams. Tommy, John, Ted and Billy all played great all-round roles of attack and defence, responding quickly to the position of the ball. The standard of our play continues to improve week on week. One of the most important parts of such a day, if not the most important, is the role the boys play in hosting their visitors, and Charlie was outstanding in this regard, showing superb initiative in hosting our guests - thank you, Charlie!
Well done to all, the boys for their effort!
