U11A Rugby v St Mary’s Melrose
Lost 12-5
Despite the score line, our young F5 boys played well against an older and more experienced rugby team from St Mary’s. With ten of our more confident players competing in the Clifton Hall Rugby Festival, this brave lot stepped up to play in a flowing and physical game. Ethan was outstanding in defence, tackling non-stop all game and leading the tackle count by a significant margin. Faris got a call-up from the B match and he immediately made an impact, tackling well and competing for the ball on the ground. Everyone enjoyed running with the ball and Charlie was particularly effective with the ball in hand. Teddy made a great cheeky interception at one point, using his pace to speed the ball in. Jack encouraged his team throughout the game and Jamie, Benji, Evan and Ludo all ran some strong lines and tried to recycle the ball as best they could. Well played, boys.
