U9 Hockey v Ardvreck
Game 1: 1-0 win
Game 2: 1-1 draw
The U9 girls had an exciting game against Ardvreck, playing two 5-a-side matches. The pitch was much larger than they were used to, so the girls really had their work cut out for them.
Allegra was fantastic in the center, intercepting many passes, making excellent tackles and facilitating great plays for her teammates. Her impressive performance earned her the title of Player of the Match from the Ardvreck team. Alexandra excelled on the right wing, skillfully channeling the ball upfield and connecting well with Allegra and Elizabeth, who drove the ball into the D, creating opportunities to shoot. Both Alexandra and Elizabeth showed great spatial awareness and positioning when attacking. This dynamic trio worked together to score the first goal, leading to a final score of 1-0 in favor of Cargilfield.
In the second game, the girls were already feeling tired, making for a tough start against a fresh team. Ardvreck began with some strong play and spent a lot of time in the D. Fortunately, our defense was solid, with Ariana, Charlotte and Zariah working effectively together. Ariana and Charlotte showed determination and went for some great tackles, deflecting many balls away from the D. Zariah made impressive saves and sent strong passes out to the side. The defense performed admirably throughout the match. At halftime, the score was 1-0 to Ardvreck. After a quick pep talk, the girls came back eager to fight. They worked well as a unit, made great passes, and managed to score, finishing the game with a final score of 1-1.
Overall, the girls demonstrated tremendous progress, determination, and team spirit. Well done, girls!
