U9 Lions Rugby beat Craigclowan

Well played, boys!

U9 Lions Rugby v Craigclowan

Won 4-3 and 5-1

The Under-9 boys came back from half term chomping at the bit for their first match in three weeks. This was a home match against Craigclowan, who also fielded two teams, so we decided to have two short matches per team.

The Lions team was composed of William, Archie, Billy, John, Freddie, Oskar, Charlie, and the captain, Ted. The boys had had a good week in training and were looking to take their learnings into the match, which they did well by running on to the ball rather than receiving it standing still. This resulted in some useful momentum. In the first match, they took time to warm up but were soon moving well, with John, Billy and Oskar running straight and gaining ground and Freddie providing his usual playmaker role of distributing the ball effectively both left and right and keeping momentum going. Despite this, the match was close but the boys managed to edge a 4-3 win.

In the second game, the boys were in full flow, Ted was receiving passes at flying pace, and William proved too much of a handful for the opposition, touching down multiple times. Charlie and Archie got stuck into the defensive efforts, which meant the visitors found it tough to leave their half. The score ended 5-1 in Cargilfield's favour.

Well done to the boys for and excellent effort. There are few finer points to work on but an impressive match-day nevertheless.
