U11A Hockey v Dollar
3-1 loss
Team: Georgia (Capt), Thandie (GK), Rose, Eleora, Agus, Zanna, Emilie, Isabelle & Esme.
The final hockey match of the season saw the team travel to Dollar, ready to take on a strong opposition. Playing 8-a-side with an additional midfielder, the team initially struggled to maintain their positions. Dollar came out strong, putting our defense under constant pressure in the first half. However, the defenders worked tirelessly to hold them off until a quick break saw Dollar slip a goal past Thandie, who had her busiest game of the season with several excellent saves.
In the second half, the team adjusted to the challenge of Dollar’s physicality and size, showing improved defensive play by clearing the ball wide and making strong tackles. The players began to link up well, creating opportunities in attack. Their hard work paid off when Zanna broke free for a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, slotting a brilliant shot into the corner of the goal. Despite their efforts, the match ended in a 3-1 loss. Georgia was voted player of the match by Dollar.
Well done to the team on a fantastic season! They have shown tremendous growth in their skills, gameplay, and overall understanding of hockey.
