U9 mixed Hockey v Craigclowen

Lost 7 – 4

Lost 5 – 3

Cargilfield U9’s put on a spirited performance in a fast-paced and competitive match against a strong Craigclowen side. Despite the larger pitch, our team adapted well, showing great teamwork and determination throughout. Craigclowen scored first, but Cargilfield responded quickly with excellent passing play between William, Tobias and Izzy, leading to a well-earned goal. Our defence—led by Billy, Elesha, Elena and Cata—was fearless, making strong tackles and crucial blocks. Craigclowen continued to apply pressure and eventually pulled ahead by two goals. However, our team never gave up, with William and Tobias impressing in attack and Elesha and Izzy showing incredible work and determination at both ends of the pitch. Final score: 7-4 to Craigclowen, but a fantastic team effort from Cargilfield, showing skill, resilience and great teamwork. Well done!

Our second game of the day was a highly competitive game. Cargilfield, didn’t really get going, perhaps the legacy of a late evening at Mary Poppins and were 3-0 down at half time. The second half was fantastic, with John performing well at the back and providing composure and super distribution skills. This allowed Ted, Allegra and Oskar space and time on the ball to launch our comeback. Ellie, Allegra and Alexandra combining for a fabulous team goal. When Jack broke down the right wing to feed Allegra, we thought the comeback was on. Sadly a couple of late goals, put the game to bed for Craigclowan, but it was wonderful to see the boys and girls play so well together.

Well done to both teams!
