U11 A and B Hockey v Ardvreck
Won 3-0 and 10-0
For our furthest away fixture this season, we took some of our Under 11 boys up to Crieff to take on Ardvreck. With our IAPS squad resting, we took a substitute A and B team instead.
The A's began a little sluggishly - clearly 80 minutes on a bus had taken its toll but eventually, with all the limbs warmed up, the boys began to fashion some scoring chances, with a few saved by the goalie until William made a grand entrance from the substitutes bench to score two great goals in quick succession. The score remained 2--0 up to half time. After the half the opposition came out more determined and with a better game plan, but our boys responded accordingly and tried to make more use of the width of the pitch through Benji and Ezra in their own attacks. Soon they were rewarded with a well-worked goal, which was finished off by Ezra. This was backed up by some solid defence by Charlie and Magnus, whilst Jack and Raffi controlled the midfield. Ethan made a couple of important saves to keep a clean sheet. Well played by all the boys in what was actually a hard-fought contest.
The B-team played exceptionally well together, leading to an outstanding result. By using the width of the pitch effectively and working as a unit, the boys achieved a fantastic 4-0 lead by halftime.
Entering the second half with increasing amounts of team spirit, Cargilfield scored an additional 6 goals, making the final result 10-0. It was awesome to see all the boys working hard during the match. They were not only playing great hockey but also providing encouragement and support to their teammates!
Well done everyone!
