Under 10 Hockey v Loretto

Blues Won 6-0

Reds Won 4-0

Blues beat Reds 3-1

A triangular of hockey this afternoon saw an U10 and U9 combination squad come up against the Loretto Under 10 Bs.

Both teams found that their extra experience of hockey gave them the edge and managed to apply lots of pressure on the Loretto goal. For both teams, our ability to maintain positional discipline helped us to create space and make more opportunities. Archie wide on the right for the Blues exemplified this and so received my man of the match award.

The Reds versus Blues match was closely fought and the Blues perhaps had an advantage having already plated a match and so being more alert. Dillon impressed in defence while Ted drove the ball well and was supported by Tommy.

William was excellent in the middle of the field for the Reds although Tobias’ speed and stick skills made him a real handful.

I can see that our under 9 team is going to be strong in the future. Well done to all the boys involved today. The team work and spirit was impressive and I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with two impressive teams.
