U11A Netball v Belhaven

Won 17-7

It was a bitterly cold and windy afternoon for our penultimate game. We got off to a good start with goals form Eleora and Isabelle taking us into an early lead. Belhaven were shooting in to the wind for the first half of the match which made it very tricky for them. Rose worked well at Centre with back up from Esme and Emilie on the wings. Emilie jumped high for some excellent interceptions and was good at doing a high ball into the D (as we had worked on in training). By the end of the first half we were 6 goals ahead.

In the second half the tables turned a bit because although we had most of the possession we now were shooting into the wind. We had lots of shots at goal but didn’t manage to convert many of them. Belhaven began to encroach on our lead. Finally, towards the end of the third quarter with Emilie and

Eleora shooting we pulled out in front again.

The final quarter started with us in a commanding lead. Agus sharpened up her defensive work in the D and all the girls began to mark much more tightly. Belhaven were using a lot of overhead passes and our girls were jumping high to intercept.
