U9 Netball v Belhaven

Our U9 girls faced a strong Belhaven side this week in what proved to be a competitive and spirited game of netball. We started the match with real energy, showing great determination and teamwork. The opening quarter saw both teams battling for possession, and although Belhaven had the ball for much of the half, our defense was outstanding. Yara and Ariana were brilliant at the back, putting pressure on the opposition and making some crucial interceptions. Thanks to their efforts, the score remained 0-0 at half time. In the second half, the girls came out eager and focused. Allegra, Elizabeth and Cata linked up beautifully in attack, showing strong passing and good movement down the court. We created some excellent chances and had a few shots at goal, but unfortunately, they didn’t quite find the net. Belhaven managed to break through our defense and score the first goal of the game. After a half-time switch of positions and a few new tactics, the girls continued to grow in confidence. Agnes and Yara were finding space well, and Yara's clever dodging helped keep the ball moving forward. Elizabeth also showed great awareness, creating options and supporting play. Despite our efforts, Belhaven added two more goals during this quarter. In the final quarter, the girls showed no signs of giving up. Their enthusiasm was still high, and they finished the game strongly. Cata made some great attacking runs into the D, and the whole team marked well, working hard to move the ball up the court. Although we couldn’t convert our chances into goals, it was a great team effort throughout. The final score was 3-0 to Belhaven, but the performance from our girls was full of positives. They showed fantastic team spirit, determination, and some promising play. Well done, girls – we’re proud of you!
