St Mary’s reply began cautiously. At times, our fielders may have underestimated the challenge, but Teddy Bu made an early breakthrough with an LBW, followed shortly by a sharp caught-and-bowled from Arran. The momentum seemed to shift after a fantastic 23-run innings from Henry, which was brought to an end by a brilliant piece of fielding from Nick at fine leg, executing a crucial run out.

With 20 runs needed off the final two overs, the tension was palpable. St Mary’s scrambled to keep the scoreboard ticking with quick singles and byes, but Ludo’s pinpoint underarm throws proved decisive, running out two tailenders in dramatic fashion.
