We faced a strong St Mary’s side in a well-contested match full of energy, learning, and some standout individual performances. St Mary’s posted a solid total of 261 for 5, while we finished on 178 for 13. Although the result didn’t swing our way, there was plenty to be proud of. Sophia Ma was voted MVP by the St Mary’s team—a recognition of her all-round contribution. With the ball, Isla and Izzy Lyell bowled brilliantly, showing control, focus and real intent. They kept things tight and built pressure. In the field, Rose stood out with some excellent stops, cutting off boundaries and showing great determination. Arabella took a cracking catch, holding her nerve under pressure and giving the team a real boost. Niamh, Katherine, Sophie, Mo, Adriana and Clara all played important roles. Sophie and Mo were sharp with their running and decision-making between the wickets. Clara supported well in the field with good positioning, while Niamh and Katherine backed up smartly and stayed switched on throughout. Adriana brought great energy to the pitch—encouraging her teammates and running hard between the wickets to keep the scoreboard ticking. Our batting had some bright patches, but a few unnecessary risks led to wickets we could have avoided. With more patience and better communication, we’ll build stronger partnerships. In the field, improving our calling and backing each other up will make a big difference. All in all, it was a spirited performance full of effort, enthusiasm, and great moments. We’ll take the lessons forward and come back stronger—lots to be proud of!
