U9 Mixed Cricket v Fettes

A lovely afternoon of cricket!

U9 Cricket v Fettes

On a bright and breezy afternoon at Fettes, our U9 cricketers enjoyed a spirited and good-humoured game of cricket against our friends from Fettes. To keep things fair and maximise the fun, we decided to mix up the teams – a great decision that led to some lovely teamwork, new friendships, and a shared sense of enjoyment all round.

The standard of play continues to improve, with all the children showing encouraging signs of development in both batting and fielding. There was greater confidence at the crease, some accurate bowling, and far more communication in the field – all great to see at this stage in the season.

Two standout moments will live long in the memory: William’s stunning one-handed catch, taken at full stretch, drew gasps of amazement from the boundary. Not to be outdone, Agnes pulled off a brilliant caught-and-bowled – a moment of sharp reflexes and great awareness that rightly earned her enthusiastic applause.

Above all, the match was played in a wonderful spirit. The players supported one another, clapped good play, and clearly enjoyed every minute – as did the spectators, who added to the afternoon’s charm with warm encouragement from the sidelines.

Well done to all involved!
