U11B Hockey lost to Loretto

The sun was shining down on a lovely but hot day of hockey at Loretto with a team consisting of Cecilia, Florence, Rosanna, Lucia, Helena, Isla, Clara, Jemima and Glory. Florence made some lovely runs through the opposing team with Isla hot on her tail, gaining possession back whenever the ball was lost.

After a tricky first half where the team were down 5-0, a reflection was made and the team looked ahead with optimism, only letting 3 goals in during the second half. Special mentions go to Cece for some great clearances in goal, Lucia for some fantastic determination in non-stop defending and Rosanna for some high-class interceptions, really giving Loretto a run for their money.

Looking ahead to improve, the team will be focusing on using the pitch to it’s full potential and spreading out across the field. But for a first game of the season, it was smiles all round for a fabulous afternoon of sport.
