1 Silver award and 3 Bronze awards at this year’s Intermediate Maths Challenge.

Cargilfield has won 1 Silver and 3 Bronze awards in the recent UK-wide Intermediate Maths Challenge for 14-16 year olds. Taken by 9 Form 8 children at the start of February they achieved 4 certificates.

Shriyaa came top and was invited to take part in the Grey Kangaroo competition sat in late March.

The Intermediate Maths Challenge was taken by approximately 270,000 pupils. It involves answering 25 multiple choice questions in one hour and is aimed at pupils from Year 11 and below. Top performers go on to compete in either the Olympiad or Kangaroo competitions. Only the top 500 take part in the UK Olympiad. The Kangaroo is taken by approximately 8000 pupils across the UK and is a worldwide competition which involves competing against pupils from over 50 countries.
