U10 Boys beat Loretto

U10 Boys beat Loretto

Some excellent cricket despite the weather

The Under-10 boys played Loretto in Musselburgh on Wednesday, facing off in a soft ball, pairs match. The boys lost the toss and were put in to bat, a move which seemed to work in their favour as the weather deteriorated as the afternoon wore on.   All of the boys gave it their best shot, with all pairs in credit at the end of their respective allocation of overs. The communication between partners was effective and no run-outs were conceded. With a couple of short boundaries, fours abounded aplenty and the team accumulated a total of 145 at the end of their innings.

After a brief tea break Cargilfield set out to defend their score and, by taking regular wickets, either run-outs or bowled, they managed to keep Loretto’s total down, eventually sealing the win by a comfortable margin.

Well done for all the boys who gave their best, despite the inclement weather!
