The Lions were first to play and we had a strong line-up to start us off. Anastasia was in centre position, with Emilie and Charlotte as our shooters. Izzy and Thandie were our defence and with some super interceptions, we kept the ball largely away from Craigclowan’s goal. Emilie had a fantastic first quarter, scoring both our two goals. Agus joined as centre in the second quarter and her pace was fantastic. She was not shy at getting stuck in and often jumped high to intercept and receive the ball. This helped keep the ball at our end, meaning Anastasia could score our third goal. The third quarter was the best played I think, but also the most exciting. Both Cargilfield and Craigclowan’s teams seemed to step up a gear. Agus and Izzy made a great team together, backed up by Thandie in centre, allowing Izzy to score a further two goals. Jed and Charlotte had to work hard though as Craigclowan also scored two goals. In the final quarter, Isobel became of our shooters but struggled to sometimes find space between some of Craigclowan’s taller girls. She didn’t give up but it was tough. With Craigclowan scoring a further two goal in the final quarter, it ended in a 5-5 draw.

We played worked well together but I think using a variety of passes, like bounce passes, might just help us keep possession; let’s try that next time, girls!
