U11B Netball lost to St George's

A really good team performance!

U11B Netball vs St Georges

Lost 9-7

With a short trip down the road to St Georges, the U11s started slowly and St Georges were on the board within the first minute. This gave the girls their wakeup call and so they did. With a few stray passes leading to intercepts, St Georges managed to get another before we could build our own attack. With some stronger passes and less lobs, we managed to find ourselves in a scoring position with Thalia managing to gain one back. After the first breaks conversation involving space and losing defenders, the girls set out very positively with some great passes into the space that they created from themselves, we scored again and then again. St Georges then managed to score another to bring it back to a level score before Thalia and Isla scored again to take the lead by 2 at half time.

At the start of the third quarter, unfortunately we couldn’t carry the momentum on with us and we went back to trying to lob the ball over defenders and we were losing the possession easily. This allowed St Georges to build momentum for themselves and score three in this quarter to take the lead by one going into the final quarter. With Freya moving back into the central position, we were able to play with a bit more structure and find some space again. This led to us managing to score again to start the comeback. Unfortunately, we couldn’t keep going and St Georges scored another three before we could score again. The final result did not reflect on the way the girls played and the effort that put into the game and St Georges were definitely made to work for their win all the way to the final whistle. The girls have made themselves proud and unfortunately didn’t get the result they deserved. WELL DONE GIRLS!!!!!
