U13 C Hockey v Loretto

On a cold and crispy afternoon at Loretto, the Under 13 C Squad ran out deserved winners by 5 goals to 3 in a tightly fought contest.

Cargilfeld started strongest with captain Rufus scoring an early goal in the first quarter. The game then reached a kind of stale mate as both teams were strong in defence and determined in attack and seemed to very much cancel each other out as a result.

At half time the boys themselves decided to make some tactical and positional changes which proved to decisive. George moved from defence to the right wing. This added the width that was needed and within minutes he added 3 excellent goals to make the score 4-0 to Cargilfield. Rufus added a 5th goal shortly afterwards.

A second set of positional changes proved to be not quite so succesful as the final quarter saw Loretto surge back in to the game and score 3 well taken goals, making the final score 5-3 in favour of Cargilfield. All the team can be congratulated on their efforts. Well done.
