The girls had a wonderful day in the sun at the Ardvreck tournament today.

The team played in pool one against Belahven, Kilgraston and Strathallan, 10min one way. The girls started the first game against Belhaven playing a little bit scrappy but gradually getting into the swing and pace of the game. Our shooters Miranda and Tunrayo were working well in attack. Belahven gave us a challenge and made it a close and challenging game, final result 8-6 win.

The second game they played against Kilgraston winning 12-1. This was fast paced game that Cargilfield controlled from the start. The teams passing and moving was fast with a few out of control passes that were luckily picked up.

The team's central court players of Scarlett, Jess and Izzy intercepted and linked well keeping Cargilfield’s possession to a high percentage and ultimately getting the ball up the court to our shooters for a maximum number of shots on the net.

The final game of the pool was Strathallan, a team we have not yet played this season but were aware they were strong. The girls were determined to go out there and play their best and they did! Great passing, moving, ball control, intercepting and shooting. Maddie and Savanna in defense were a force making it difficult for Strathallan to score. The game finished with a 10-3 win putting us into the semifinals against Craigclowan.

Having played Craigclowan a couple of weeks ago and having lost, we knew this would be a challenging semifinal. The girls continued her winning streak and kept their teamwork and skills level high. Cargilfield won and moved forward to the final.

The final was against Strathallan who had beaten Fettes in the other semi final 8-0. This game was again a strong performance from the girls that controlled the game winning the tournament Cargilfield 7 – Strathallan 3.

An incredible performance from a strong and well drilled team that have played at a very high standard this term. A fabulous afternoon; well played, girls!
