U9 Rugby beat Fettes!

Lots of tries from both teams!

Won 12 tries to 9

After a few weeks of hard training and, for a lot, getting to grips with the basics of rugby, the U9s were very excited to play their first competitive fixture. And what a way to start the season against our friendly rivals, Fettes! In attack, the boys played well as a team and put into practice the skills that they had been shown in training. I was very pleased with their build up play and the way that they supported each other. Our pops from the tackles and spreading the ball were a joy to behold. However in defence, we were quite sloppy with our tackling and let the opposition run through our line too many times. I would like the boys to work on their tackling in training and be a bit braver in making the tackle. Whilst I was waiting for the boys to change back into kilts, I overheard them breaking out into song with ‘Flower of Scotland’, which I thought was absolutely brilliant!

Well done, boys!
