Parent Partnership

At Cargilfield Nursery, we believe that strong relationships with families are the foundation of a happy and successful early education. From your very first visit to the day your child moves up to Pre-Prep, we aim to build a genuine partnership with every parent and carer.

Open communication

We operate an open-door policy, and our nursery team are always happy to chat, whether it’s at morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, or via phone and email. Your child’s key worker will get to know your child well and keep you informed about their development, interests, and friendships.

Termly progress reports

You’ll receive detailed progress updates each term, with insights into your child’s learning journey across all areas of the Curriculum for Excellence. We celebrate their achievements while identifying any areas where extra support or challenge might be helpful. This is done through our assessment system, please click here for more information.

Involvement in Nursery life

Parents are regularly invited into the nursery to share in special events, seasonal celebrations, performances, and themed weeks. We also host informal drop-in sessions where you can join your child for play, stories, or outdoor learning. It’s a lovely way to be part of their world and see the learning in action.

Smooth transitions

When the time comes for your child to move up to Pre-Prep, we ensure it’s a calm and confident transition. Our close links with the Reception team, shared spaces, and gradual step-up activities mean children feel familiar and excited about the next stage of their education.
