I have been working at Cargilfield for 3 ½ years as Nursery Manager.

I studied a PGCE Primary and have taught and led in a variety of Early Years settings in different places in the world. I started my career at St Anne’s in the East End of London then moved to lead an Early Years setting called Bute House, a leading Pre-Prep girls school in Hammersmith. After this, I relocated to Hong Kong where I spent 10 years at Harrow International School leading various sectors within the school. After COVID my family and I decided to return home and join the Cargilfield community. In my spare time I love spending time with my 2 gorgeous boys, painting, gardening, swimming and travelling. What I love most about Cargilfield Nursery is the incredible team that I work with, the opportunities the children experience and the privilege of watch children grow, develop and make incredible progress.

I’ve been part of the Cargilfield community for the last 14 years, and every day I continue to feel privileged to work in such a vibrant and nurturing environment. Watching our youngest children grow in confidence and curiosity from their very first day. This is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

I studied a different vocation before realising it wasn’t for me. I then took a year out and went down to London to be a nanny and it was then I realised that I really wanted to continue working with children, so I went on to do my HNC Childcare and education. I have furthered my knowledge by doing my BA in childhood studies at Moray house. I have also just completed my second Masters in education. I’ve always been passionate about early childhood development – those first few years are so vital, and it’s a joy to be part of that journey.

Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my family and walking in the countryside These interests keep me balanced and inspired, and I often find they spark lovely conversations with the children, who are always keen to share their own stories.

What I love most about Cargilfield is the sense of community – not just among staff and families, but within the children themselves. It’s incredibly special to see children start in Nursery and continue through the school, growing into confident, kind and capable individuals. Being part of that long journey, right from the very beginning, is a real honour.

I have worked at Cargilfield School for 10 years.

From a young age I was always eager to help and look after young children and this is where my love for teaching started. I achieved my SVQ 2 and 3 childcare qualification through a company called carousel training alongside working in a private nursery setting, Where I stayed for five years before starting at Cargilfield. Currently I am working through my Primary Teaching Degree at The Open University and I am looking forward to embracing the new opportunities to further my career within Teaching.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time walking and socialising with family and friends.

I love the family feeling of Cargilfield and how friendly everyone is. The intimate class sizes allow all children to grow, learn and develop confidence which is incredibly rewarding to see.

I have been working at Cargilfield for 10 years. I studied an HNC in Childhood Education. Prior to starting at Cargilfield, my family lived in Singapore and Hong Kong where I enjoyed working in British International Schools. After returning to Edinburgh my experience in Asia inspired me to work in Early Education.

In my spare time I enjoy swimming, travelling and eating in good restaurants.

What I love most about our nursery is the children’s individual personalities, helping them grow in confidence and watching them embrace the fun and enjoyment of learning before taking the next step into pre-prep at Cargilfield.

I have been working at Cargilfield since 2017, and it’s been a truly rewarding journey. Being part of such a warm, supportive environment where children thrive from their very first day in Nursery through to their time in the main school is a real privilege.

I studied Children’s Care, Learning and Development at Borders College. Since I was young, my passion has been to look after and teach children.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends , eating out or watching sport. These moments help me recharge and bring balance to my week.

What I love most about working in the Cargilfield Nursery is the strong sense of community – not just among the staff but also with the families. Watching the children grow in confidence, form friendships, and develop their own unique personalities is so special. There’s something truly heart-warming about seeing them take those first steps in Nursery and then go on to flourish as they move up through the school.

I have worked at Cargilfield for 3 years.

I completed my HNC and HND in Childhood Practice at Borders College. After leaving school, I completed a year in Honduras teaching English, and I knew after that I wanted to pursue a career with children.

Outside of work I enjoy eating out, going to the gym, cooking, socialising with friends and family and calligraphy.

I love how each day in Nursery is so different. I love hearing what the children are interested in and driving our day forward based on that. It is also lovely to watch their growth and progression throughout their time at Cargilfield.
