Nursery visit National Museum of Scotland

Nursery visit National Museum of Scotland

Learning about clocks and cogs!

The nursery children all went to the National Museum of Scotland today to take part in a Clocks and Cogs workshop.  The children learnt all about what engineers do and how they help people; design, build and fix things.  We learnt all about levers, cogs and clocks with lots of practical activities experimenting with how these things work.  We also got to see the Ritchie Clock on the first floor of the museum, where you can see all the cogs and levers at work inside the clock mechanism.  It was fascinating!  Some of the children also had the opportunity to see some of the other exhibits in the museum too.  A fantastic day out for all the nursery, well done everyone!

We can’t welcome you to our grounds right now, but we can offer you a virtual tour and we can answer questions via email or telephone. We especially like to chat face-to-face on a video call.

We have places available for 2020 entry in most year groups.

For now, we hope that this video, presented by our Headmaster, Mr Rob Taylor, will give you a flavour of what life is like here at Cargilfield. Our website and social media channels are kept up to date and hold a wealth of information about our school.

Our Registrar, Fiona Craig is available to contact via email: and she will be happy to help you.
