On Thursday, 16th May at 4:30pm, we are delighted to welcome former pupil, writer, rider, and explorer, Louis Hall, who will share his adventures on horseback and his charity, The Big Hoof.

At 18, Louis discovered the horse's power while searching for a tribe in northern Mongolia. Since then, he has ridden the length of the UK and across Europe to support charitable causes. In 2022, Louis created the first conclusive horse trail across the Ligurian Alps during his journey from Siena, Italy, to Cape Finisterre, Spain. He now has his sights set on America and the Silk Road.

In 2020, Louis founded The Big Hoof, a Scottish charity that promotes adventure and well-being through long-distance rides. So far, his charity has travelled over 4,000 km in six different countries, raising over £80,000 for causes centred on mental health, wellbeing, and child welfare.

The event takes place on Thursday, May 16th at 4:30pm in the Chapel. You are welcome to join us for tea and coffee in the Library from 4pm.

We look forward to welcoming you on Tuesday, 21st May at 8:40am to an exciting event featuring David Fox-Pitt MBE, the founder of Wildfox Events Ltd.

David has pioneered some of Scotland's most iconic adventure challenges and has helped raise more than £40 million for causes worldwide. In 2020, he spearheaded the Wildtime Offline movement, which aims to highlight the importance of 'intentional screen-free time'—preferably outdoors and appreciating nature!—for our nation's general health and well-being.

Since 2022, David has played a formative role in leading Siobhan's Trust, distributing millions of pizzas, hot drinks, and other forms of aid such as truckloads of water-purification tablets, hygiene products, and warm clothes directly to struggling communities in Ukraine.

The event will take place in the Chapel at Cargilfield on Tuesday, 21st May at 8:40am.

Kindly RSVP by 14th May.

We look forward to seeing you at Cargilfield!

Yours Sincerely

Tina Liversidge
