Cargilfield’s first boarding weekend of the year is designed for the Year 8 children who are at the beginning of their significant and special final year of Prep School. The year will present important challenges and opportunities for the children and the weekend is a great way to help prepare and guide the children. We try to balance the weekend with fun and meaningful, useful activities. There were mock-interviews, group games, treasure hunts as well as scenario discussions, when we discussed fictional scenarios based on the sort of incidents that may arise at this sensitive stage in their lives.
All the staff commented on the enthusiasm and willing contribution offered by the children and they should all be congratulated on leaving such a strong and positive impression. It was great to see the children take ownership of the school and to bond as a group. The weekend ended with a service in chapel where, in only ten months’ time, we will gather again to celebrate the successes and achievements that this terrific group of children will inevitably gain.
The Autumn Term has started with a bang!
