Mindfulness lessons begin

Mindfulness lessons begin

Form 4 and 5 begin to focus!

The children in Forms 4 & 5 will have the opportunity to learn about mindfulness this year. They will follow the Paws b programme designed by MiSP (Mindfulness in Schools Project).

The programme runs for twelve lessons and we have split this into two units of six.

One focus of the course is to teach the children about four specific parts of the brain; the prefrontal cortex, the hippocampus, the amygdala and the insula.

The course also gives the children strategies for improving focus, concentration, decision making and resilience. All whilst helping them to notice the world around them and encouraging to be active thinkers.

Paws b is a great opportunity for the children to explore the way they think and learn, setting them up for all the adventures that life at Cargilfield brings.

Cargilfield Connected

We can’t welcome you to our grounds right now, but we can offer you a virtual tour and we can answer questions via email or telephone. We especially like to chat face-to-face on a video call.

We have places available for 2021 entry in most year groups.

For now, we hope that this video, presented by our Headmaster, Mr Rob Taylor, will give you a flavour of what life is like here at Cargilfield. Our website and social media channels are kept up to date and hold a wealth of information about our school.

Our Registrar, Fiona Craig is available to contact via email: [email protected] and she will be happy to help you. Thank you
