We brought two Under 9 teams to play in Ardvreck’s small sports hall, happy to keep out of the rain and the cold wind.
Team 1 We had learned last visit to reign our passes in as the court is very narrow. Ardvreck have some fine players but the recent work we have been doing on marking paid off and we often reduced their passing options. Our shooters were on great form and fast accurate passing got the ball to them, maximising our chances. Ardvreck defended well though and we had to pick up our speed to succeed. Savannah, Aglaya and Nadia made a great attacking three and Isla played her part also. Gabriella and Beatrice battled to defend the goal and we only let 2 goals pass us. Jacqueline learned to dodge to get into a better space and scored 2 fine goals, Nadia scored 4.
Final score Cargilfield 6 Ardvreck 2
Team 2 Again the marking was very tight and although no goals were scored in the first quarter, we got going and starting working very well together as a team. Our new shooting pair of Emilia and Valentina worked very well indeed scoring a combined total of 7 goals. Bella and Malysa worked hard to get the ball to them and Bonnie was very good at base line passes. Bonnie scored the final goal. Millie and Emilia also worked hard although Millie found it very frustrating having to deal with defenders’ arms across her body and Emilia M got a sore ball in the face. She took some time out, thanks for Isla for stepping in, but came back in and worked hard.
Final score Cargilfield 9 Ardvreck 3
Well done, girls. I was very pleased with your effort and good team work today. Good improvements!
