STEM Talk in British Science Week

STEM Talk in British Science Week

Importance of AI and Coding

This afternoon, as part of British Science Week, the upper school heard from Charlotte Grinyer, a research engineer at Thales. She spoke about her work in artificial intelligence, designing code which allows images to be identified by name, and which interprets the relationship between different objects in those images. This is used in order to help prevent poaching of endangered species.Charlotte also talked about the wide range of projects and roles, both that she has taken part in, and that are available more widely in science technology, engineering and maths careers. She emphasised the importance of creativity, literacy and communication.

A fascinating talk!
