‘Girls bowled over by Cricket not Rounders’

The thwack of leather on willow has been the sound of summer for generations of boys but cricket is now soaring in popularity among young schoolgirl .

Prep schools say the number of girls playing cricket almost doubled in two years and that twice as many are registered for cricket matches as their male classmates next year.
