Cargilfield got off to a very strong start with some excellent team work from Savannah ( C ), Bea (WD) and Emilia DH (WA), which enabled Miranda and Nadia to score with relative ease. Valentina played a strong defence role as GD, blocking some goals. At the end of the first quarter, it was 6-1 to Cargilfield. An even more powerful performance in the second quarter meant that we scored a further 8 goals, with Ardvreck squeezing one past us. Our communication was fantastic and we only had a few foot faults. At half time, a change of position saw Isla C in centre and she used her energy with great gusto. Once we realised what direction our goal was in, Emilia DH, who was now in one our shooting position, along with Miranda were able to score a further 4 goals. Our footwork was a little untidier but we really were a solid team.
The last quarter saw both Ardvreck and Cargilfield switch shooters so that our teams were mixed. This was a great way to end the match and reinforce the idea that it’s all about enjoyment and playing for the fun of it.
