U9 Cricket beat Ardvreck

Lots of runs and wickets!

We travelled up to Ardvreck for our last fixture of the year, unsure as to what the weather would throw at us. However, it was lovely and sunny. Bairstow was a mixed team of U9 boys and girls. We lost the toss and Ardvreck began to bat. The first few overs were very much dominated by wide and no balls, however it became much more exciting when our captain Oliver took two wickets. Alice and Michael came in for the next two overs and Alice also took 2 wickets. This good fielding helped keep the score down and Ardvreck posted 218 for 4 wickets.

Coming into bat we started off poorly with a fabulous bowl from Archie of Ardvreck. Our progress was slow until David and Oliver, our big hitters came into bat. David managed to 3 fours and Oliver 2 fours and a six each off four balls. We did score some singles here and there and a few twos but we ahd done enough to win. We finished on 252 for 1 wicket. Well done to both the boys and the girls.
