On a bright and breezy autumnal afternoon, our 2nd XV took on their toughest assignment of the season with a game against Ardvreck 1st XV. Arthur lost the toss and we kicked off to Ardvreck and within the minute had scored a beautifully constructed team try. This spurred Ardvreck into life and they hit back with an excellent team try. This was a ding dong battle, with outstanding free flowing rugby on display, alongside some outstanding defence, led by Arlo and Timo.
Ardvreck came out for the second half on fire, with the Cargilfield men struggling to contain their powerful forward runners. This was where the game was decided, as in those opening ten minutes, Cargilfield shipped 28 points in 10 minutes. After this onslaught from Ardvreck the boys kicked into gear with some stellar rugby being played. In particular, Jack played superbly in the wide channels and William linked well with some outstanding offloads. That being said, this was too little too late, but this was despite the result our best performance of the season.
