Well played, boys!

U11A Hockey v Strathallan

Won 9-1

he final match of the season saw our team take on Strathallan under the glorious Perthshire sunshine. The weather was perfect, and so was the performance, as we wrapped up the season with a commanding 9-1 victory.

Ethan stood tall in goal for the first half, with Archer and Raffi solid in defence. The midfield trio of Tommy, Hugo, and Harry controlled the game, with Daniel as captain leading at the front. From the first whistle, it was clear who was in charge, as we dominated possession and created several early chances.

It didn’t take long to take the lead and then for Daniel to smash the ball into the top corner to make it 2-0. As the first half progressed, we continued to push forward, with Harry and Daniel linking up well in attack thanks to some great build up play from our midfield.

In the second half, following Daniel getting his hat trick, we rotated positions to give everyone a chance to shine. Archer moved to the right wing, and Raffi moved up front. The changes didn’t disrupt our rhythm, as we continued to dominate possession. Archer found the back of the with a well-executed reverse-stick finish that sent the ball past the Strathallan keeper. Hugo also added to the tally with a couple of tap-ins, capitalising on some quick, crisp passing and intelligent movement off the ball.

Strathallan, to their credit, never gave up and did manage to pull a goal back through a well-taken penalty corner. The ball bounced over Hugo’s stick and into the net, but it was a mere consolation as we continued to control the game. Ethan had more to do in the second half, making some crucial saves, but our defence remained solid, ensuring the game never slipped out of our hands.

The final score was 9-1, a fitting result for a team that had worked tirelessly all season. It was a great way to end the campaign with such a comprehensive win under the beautiful Perthshire skies. What a season it’s been!
