U11A Rugby lose to Belhaven

U11A Rugby lose to Belhaven

Just a couple of tries the difference

<p>This was our 3rd game in 4 days against Belhaven albeit in the 8 a side format.  The game was end to end but Belhaven had the better first half by spreading the ball wide and supporting the ball carrier well.  We scored a couple of good tries but leaked another two close to the end of the first half, leaving us behind 6-2.  In the second half, after conceding almost straight away, we came back into the match and got the score to 8-5.  However, despite some break away tries by Glen and some powerful running by Albie, we went down 10-7. </p>
<p>Today, Belhaven showed us what you can do when you move the ball wide and then loop around to create overlaps.  In defence, we put in some crunching tackles but our supporting players weren’t up quick enough to steal the ball.  We were indecisive with the ball at times and hung onto it too long.  When we did get the ball out to the wingers, we didn’t support them and lost the ball at the breakdown.  Lots to work on ahead of Fettes on Friday but if we learn to work hard for each other and play with a stronger team spirit, we will improve as a unit. </p>
