U9A Girls lost to Craigclowan

U9A Girls lost to Craigclowan

An exciting game up in Perth

The U9 A team had a very exciting game against Craigclowan today, our last match of the season. Izzy was our captain and we fielded first. We struggled to bowl to a longer length than we were used to, but we did field well, managing to get all the players out before they had received the 25 balls. Craigclowan scored 6 rounders in the first innings. We went into bat and scored 5 ½. Maddie, Lucy, Savannah and Tunrayo were the top scorers but unfortunately several girls did not manage to make contact with the ball. In the second innings Craigclowan scored 3 and we again managed to get them all out. We needed 4 to win but unfortunately we could only score 3. Final score Craigclowan 9 ½ Cargilfield 8 ½. What a close match! Super fielding! Especially well done to Lucy and Izzy getting girls out at first post and fabulous catches from Maddie and Savannah! Points to work on: hitting the ball but not to first post, bowling a longer ball. It is important to learn how to lose too, so a good lesson. Well tried, girls!
